I used to use the Berkana site, but that doesn't seem to be available any more. And the American Tower site is too limited.

So, what Interweb tool does the discriminating tower jumper use nowadays to locate potential sites?

sectionals? always worked for me, just a little more effort involved.

check pm's this one is great if you see something passing by, it gives you towers within 4 mile radius of any address.

www.skyvector.com (aeronautical charts) the number in the parenthesis ( ) is the feet of the atnennas

maybe edit post to remove website name and PM to anyone interested? guess not a huge deal, but PM's have been the norm on this thread. just a suggestion.

skyvector is essentially on-line aeronautical charts. the charts are great to identify really tall towers, but fail to provide an actual address, detailed location, or any information other than height. many towers do not even appear.

heck, it is only a visual presentation.

it is a very basic tool. I use it frequently as a pilot, almost never as a jumper. I doubt naming it will cause any harm.

I wouldn't mind a couple PM's as well. Thanks. Always appreciate more info. The site I used is not as good as "reliable" as I thought.
