Preparing your family
How many of you have prepared your family for the potential outcome that inevitably faces you every time you jump? I would expect that those of you who are married have shared this with your wife/husband, but maybe not. I, for one, am single, so I don't have someone that I would share all of my "activities" with. I guess my question is this: If you went in, would your parents/friends/loved ones understand or would they be totally shocked that this happened? Part 2 of my question is: How did you prepare your parents/friends/loved ones for the fact that you may die doing what you love? I know that most of us were skydivers before we were base jumpers so our "people" knew we were involved in a sport that could potentially have a fatal outcome. I think that BASE has a much more substantial risk associated with it than skydiving does and I'm wondering how everyone dealt with this in approaching their people. Thanks for the input.
