Just wanted to send a shout out to everyone who helped make my trip amazing! From Serena and Andrew at HB to Matt in Salt, the experiences were amazing! In 13 jumps to get my # and open a building [unnecessary] to the time I got home I don't think there was a dull moment and everyone was incredibly accomodating.

In the event that anyone wants or needs to be in the Minneapolis area you can more than count on me to help you out and I will recriprocate with the same attention shown to me.

On a funnier side of things, you'll chuckle to know that I was able to flawlessly huck the building [ditto] on the morning of the 17th and then flew home where I was met by Eric and we drove straight to the bridge where we were pinched looking over the edge with rigs on. We were sited for "Public Nuisance" and our rigs were confiscated.... a little irony.

For those of you NOT paying attetion to the citation, I was sited for "Pubic" nuisance....which is funny cuz I shave that!

I'd take out the part where you say what state/building you jumped in/off of...

"Pubic" nuisance... so does that mean the officer was a dick?

if you're going to post pictures and name locations how about doing it on sites in your own area and not ours

From an old thread on site naming:

In public discussion, especially on-line discussion, I avoid naming BASE jumping sites, as well as BASE jumpers. I ask everyone else in this forum to do the same...

...Any discussion of a site can easily be held by referring to the site descriptively, rather than by name or location. It is easy to discuss "the Bridge Day site" or "the popular terminal wall in Northern Italy" for example, and using such labels detracts nothing from a technical discussion.

Apologies all around. Steps taken and lesson learned.

Be aware that we as BASE jumpers are not the only people to be reading these forums. Thanking people that made your trip is important, but burning down objects by posting photos and info about them is not gonna make locals happy. Take the photo and info about this B down please. We asked nicely...

City is still listed in upper left hand corner of ticket, also named airport you flew into. my powers of deductive reasoning are far from astonishing, and i think i figured it out, so maybe some additional edits? just a suggestion.

1 - it IS a big city. I bet they have multiple bridges.

2 - if he got busted, while wearing a rig, I'd call that object "toast." not much hiding from it.

Not toast at all I will be hitting that when I get home and they will join since the rigs are almost back.

Wooo!!! Brian (the MN BASE Crew Lawyer) has stated that this should all be resloved by tomorrow and that the is no legal leg to stand on. Brian is not a BASE jumper but fellow skydiver and loves the fights for the sport.

I want a base crew lawyer...

So; you get berated all over the place in this thread about naming sites and putting up pictures of objects and then you go and upload the very same picture that was asked to be removed from this thread and tag it with the exact same object and location names that were deleted from your original post???

it seems you may be missing a few points...

1 - making the same photo available with such blatant identifying information is highly inappropriate. you are pissing in someone else's pool. by trying to attract attention to yourself, you risk shutting down that site. not to mention, you do not OWN squat. if anybody can claim OWNED, it is the folks who live nearby and jump it regularly.

it seems like a totally shitty way to thank people for helping you...

2 - that bridge back home... if a cop ticketed you at the bridge it sounds like they know people might consider jumping it. they thus might increase surveillance, etc. getting the ticket thrown out won't help. it might just motivate the officer to nail you better the next time.

sure, things might be different where you live, but that is the real concern.

As far as the bridge, the bridge is already under a ton of surveliance due to the fact that it's the most common spot in MN to commit suicide so to huck the bridge usually isn't tough, but isn't the easiest thing to do either. There's a ton of traffic and it's centerally located. The 3 of us in the MN crew understand this and generally don't have a problem but at the same time don't think it's very easy. We have developed easier and faster ways to do it but have a bunch of other, more desirable places to go as well.

watch your enthusiasm. unchecked enthusiasm has gotten plenty of jumpers into trouble. it can be more difficult than the actual jump.
