I call shennanigans. That sounds like a scam.

In fact, that is the same as the classic "Free Ipods" scam. I don't know if "scam" is the technical term here, but you get the idea. You have to go through all the promotional crap, then sign up for a bunch of "offers" and then refer people back to their program who do the same, before you even stand a change of getting anything.

ACTUALLY, not really a -scam-, you just need to buy a LOT of stuff. My cousin and I got 6 free Ipod Videos two years ago from participating in these, of course, for the computer link you provided you have to buy 1000 $ vacation packages (I looked into that exact offer), for the ipods you just had to sign up for netflicks and a few other things like facial cream and slut butter or whatever, then cancel as soon as the Ipod arrives. it even reads in the offer rules that you can do that.


PS- as far as choosing colors, you have been able to do that on Sony VAIO laptops for years, way longer than for Apple notebooks.

PPS-anyone dissing mac has not given them a chance. I was a PC guy for 5 years. halfway through college, I got a Macbook Pro. EVERYTHING is better. NO stupid spyware programs needed, no worry visiting free porn sites, 100% copmpatability with microsoft office, pretty much everything else also. not just compatibility- I even have 2 versions of windows ON my macbook, one is a parallels program, the other on a segmented part of the drive. running them faster than my roomates PC laptop that cost $500 MORE than my macbook.

Mac IS my personal choice, and can do everything a PC can, usually faster. unless your a dirty inbred redneck who is obsessed with killing people in the virtual video game world. 88% of registered sex offenders are also obsessed with online gaming.

the thing about the prices is, with a mac, you buy the computer and microsoft office, and your done. for about 2k. (and a freeipod)

buy a similar speced PC laptop for 1.3k, BUT you then need to buy all the same microsft office stuff, and a antivirus program, and you don't get a free Ipod with it. so, for the same thing, mac is a similar price. plus mac is sexy, lightweight, and fully capable of everything a PC can do, it can even BE a PC.

all you PC hosers are just mad you did not buy Apple stock as VISTA came out.

It's a special offer for college students that Apple runs several times each year. I've seen it extended to non-students when they're approaching the end of lifecycle for an iPod (and have a bunch to clear out), too.

last time i was on the apple store website it was one of the promotions for buying a new computer, and when my sister bought a new macbook pro last month, she got a free Ipod touch, 16gb.

i just looked at the website, and it is not there anymore.
