Where to next?
So I'm on the verge of being downsized as this economic meltdown keeps gaining momentum. I'm sure I can find another job where I'm located now, but I'm seriously tempted to just throw in the towel, relocate somewhere cheap for 1-2 years, and wait for the crisis to blow over. Possibly open my own business and/or do an online MBA. Unfortunately, my mind draws a blank on possible relocation targets. I really want to pick up another language. I used to live in Buenos Aires and spoke very good Spanish, but it's all deteriorated since then, so renewing my Spanish is an option.
My criteria are the following:
* I'm not rich, so cost of living should be low (say USD 500 per month to cover all basic expenses).
* Not in the USA
* Located within reasonable distance of slider-up BASE sites (sorry folks, but I'd rather jack off than jump slider down).
* Attractive women (Samoans need not apply)
* BASE objects should be located within reasonable distance of a hospital, just in case (so don't recommend the Caucus mountains).
Right now at the top of my list are:
* Southeast Asia (no idea where)
* Maldives
* Buenos Aires (not quite USD 500 per month, but reasonable)
I speak fluent Russian, so any location in the former CIS is an option. I could potentially move to Crimea, but I think I'd get very bored there very quickly. And the one slider-up cliff there is not an object I'd want to be jumping regularly.
And most importantly, if you have a suggestion for me, please explain WHY you think it's a good idea.
Thanks in advance.
