stressing over what to label a jump is about as trivial as you get in the sport. jump it. enjoy it. stay healthy.
True... but a crane still isn't a building
I jumped a local power tower last night. Some people would call it an antenna but in my opinion it certainly is not an antenna.
the annual discussion about classification revolves around how to classify...
1) by looks. this is how most begin and leads to the creation of the "Other" category.

2) by wind hazard. the risk of each jump is greatly impacted by how the wind flows. as originally stated by Carl Boenish...
B - wind blows around
A - wind blows through
S - wind blows under
E - wind blows over
buildings under construction (skeletons), antennas, power towers, etc. all then become A's.
dams, cliffs, etc. all then become E's.
but as I wrote upboard, it is an honor system. no one will officially verify the jumps or the objects claimed. no one confirms jump numbers or deployment method. if a system works for someone, fine. it all is personal preference and pride.
