I think you are playing a bit about the 200 jump thing....
I think what most people fear is EVERYONE realizing that they can BASE jump and its normally easy...... But it is only easy until the s@!T hits the fan.
You may be looking at it from your perspective: You are or may be athletic, have good coordination, are quick on your feet, are great understress... whereas many people are not... the so called average person is not average anymore, just like common sense is not common.
So with that being said, 150-200 jumps is a gauge, not a magic number, where hopfully the jumper has been in a few higher stress situtations. This gauge can determine if the person is "the right fit" for BASE if you know what I mean. I am not saying that I am in any position to be a gatekeeper, for that I am not, but others may deem themselves with that title...
Why do I base? To learn more about myself and others. It is a circle, the more I learn about others, the more I learn about myself and vice versa.
[insert philosophical mumbo, jumbo]
Seriously I jump because its fun, the people are high on life types and usually not average. It's late...
I'll finish with a few quotes..
