Re: [SimonBones] Houston, TX
Hey man, Houston has a small core of jumpers you can't help but like. Remember, when I started some of the first B jumps to get the sport started were right here in Houston with the nice tall building boom of the early 80's. Anyway, glad your coming and I'll tell you, of the active Houston BASE jumpers, there's even a benefit as there are a couple cute, gutsy girls that that are also part of the crew. I started my BASE jumping here in the Houston area in 82 when my twin brother Randy came down at Christmas 81 with his mind set on jumping the Texas Commerce Bldg, 75 stories, 1000'. Of course we did it, on New Years night and that was my first BASE jump. BASE started here in conjunction with LA where Carl Boenish lived. The current Houston crew is smaller than you would expect for a city over 2 mil, but the ones that are here, are good with a couple of new guys that are just naturals. Give Joy and I a call when you move to town.
