what size sliders are people using on their Raven IIIs and IVs nowdays ?

Just put a 22x24 on a raven 3 for a buddy, I'll let you know how it works on Sat..

let me clarify :

what size sliders are you SUCCESSFULLY using for SuperRavens in BASE environment ?

My guess is that 22x24 is not wide enough and the openings will be a bit funny. I was thinking more like 22x28 or so (19x29 is the factory Raven III slider spec)

i have been using the slider off of my fox 265 for a Raven IV size 282sqft. its a mesh one. if you want to know how big that is, maybe it is on apex' website.

it works quite well, never had any problems.

For a raven 3 I use one for a 266 dagger and its awesome

My first base canopy was a raven III and a buddie of mine is jumping it this BD. I made a 20*24 and it has worked great for 300+ jumps. I have used a mojo slider for it and did not notice any thing weird on any jumps. Just my 2 cents but I am fu@$%^& crazy so what do I know?

I've jumped a lot of different base canopies lots of different times and I still find myself coming back to a raven. I love this canopy!

Slider dimensions 18x24 large mesh works awesome on my non-terminal 4-7 second delay. Haven't done a full blown terminal yet.

Its not a BASE canopy!!! Whats a lot of jumps??

I have jumped all the objects with it. The longest delay has been 8 seconds and it opened very nice. And no it is not a “BASE” canopy but it does work very in many BASE environments. If I didn’t get so fat and had to go up to a 288 I would still be jumping it. It opens sweet and on heading!

to the Slider Q . I always used the factory Bikini (X-slider) and it worked great. Mosly used Raven as No-slider though.
The Raven is no BASE canopy but works pretty good. If you really look at close and fly it. It is a thinner profile cut of wing shape and is therefore can be faster on the opening surge forward motion and does lack the same reinforcement in bridal connection and in the beefier tail seam were break-lines connect. For jumps that are technical and a little more life betting in a good outcome. I didn't use it as my A - Rig and only used it on the cake jumps like easy bridge or breezy antennas.

I used a 20x24 and 22x27 sliders both without any issues.

It's a good cake object canopy as Ray suggested. I would not use one for a gnarly jump, but it's a fine tool to have in your kit.

I'm 150lbs without gear
I have about 100 base jumps with Raven 2's and 3's anything from tard to a 7 sec delay

I have 10 or so on a troll MDV 265 and 245

30+/- on Dagger 266 and 244

I have 10 or so on a Fox 265

10 +/- on Rockdragon 240 (ish)

half dozen on Ace 220 and another half dozen on Mojo 260 half dozen on pioneer K-XX

I'm happy with a Raven 3 for all the jumps I do. Its served me well so far in my limited experience of 150 jumps in 12 months

Ravens are hella sick. me and kyle stay true to them. they work well and they are cheap. imagine if we had been smart enough to jump ravens worth just a couple hundred bucks each while we were day blazing in Zion, rather than your blackjack and my fox.

you jumped a raven off of walnut grove with broderick just before he went away.. you didn't even realize.

I have 10 BASE jumps on a Raven 4, great canopy. I would use one on a lot of jumps, especially terminal non low pull type jumps. As well as 'safer' SD (potato, green, NRG). Well I use a slider on those last two, but you get the point. I would be reluctant to open one up in my urban adventures though. It can be a little fast and doesn't have the sinking stability that I like. But if thats all I had....

I'm the buddy and my Raven did well with Max's 22x24, On heading both jumps. 3 sec, and a 5 sec,
wasn't a slammer but was quick.
But what do i know he also talked me into a 3 way for my first base jump

If that was mine, it's a Raven III not IV. I still have it.

I may need to borrow that again until Zmorlock gives me my ace back.
