Courthouse Rock
I am wondering if anyone knows if this wall has ever been wing suited. If so what kind of flights did they get.

Re: [base754] Courthouse Rock
Not sure about the wingsuit idea, but you may want to remember, if you have any "problems", it's a long hike out. several years ago, a friend of mine femured there and bled out before help could arrive...to boot, his friends that were with him had no first aid training and didn't know how to handle the situation.

Good luck with it and be safe.

Re: [SpecialKaye] Courthouse Rock
Short of having 2 traction splints, a helicopter , and a sat phone, I don't see what one could have done for him . Even if he had jumped off a 500 ft hospital , struck , femured , and severed his femural artery, landing in the operating room.... It's still possible, and highly likely that he would have still died.
Just my .02 cents.

Re: [basehoundsam] Courthouse Rock
so have you ever been out to courthouse? why not stick to the original post and keep your toxic responses to yourself. lately all you've been doing is spewing venom on anything that's posted...i hope you find something to be positive about in life.

Re: [SpecialKaye] Courthouse Rock
So, how is telling someone about how remote the jump location is sticking to the original post? Have you ever done a wingsuit base jump?
To answer the original post, I'm going to run out there and wingsuit it today. I'll take my personnal medical team (aspirin) just in case. If I make it back from the terribly remote area within the next month, I'll let you know how it turns out. If you don't hear from me by this time next month, send help.
Just in case you don't know where it is, I'll post GPS coordinates for the parking area, hike, climb, natural spring and exit point when I return from the jump. Wish me luck...

Re: [SpecialKaye] Courthouse Rock
Actually I have tons to be positive about Kaye. I actually jump, work, play, and love. You of all people should try it some time.
I just happen to be very good friends with the "untrained" other person. I've heard the story many times first hand. I've heard all of the details . I made my first few jumps with this person, and consider them to be my brother.
When someone like you starts saying inflammatory bullshit accusing other people for being part of his death. Well that is just wrong. Incorrectly running brake lines outside of the slider on a slider up jump, and multiple cliff strikes with two compound femurs is what killed him..... not the unpreparedness/lack of training of his friends as you suggest.
Of course maybe you would like to call the other person and tell them that as they were holding their best friend while they bled to death , that they should have been doing more. Since you obviously are aware of the facts.... why don't you tell us what you would have done to save him????
Oh ..... and your right my latest project to bring potable water to the families around the cave , as well as helping with access issues , and helping open up other areas in Mexico are all just TOXIC !!!! I guess I should stick to spewing on the internet .
Get a life Kaye.

Re: [base754] Courthouse Rock
Not to my knowledge. i have about 20 jumps off courthouse since the mid 90's. I would strongly advise you to NOT wingsuit that cliff. It's not that high and as everybody else has said it is very remote. AZ law dictates that an emergency heli will not land unless there is an APS officer on site. I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm saying that if you do jump a wingsuit off of it and walk away go to Vegas ASAP! You are one lucky MO FO!

Re: [424base] Courthouse Rock
I understand courthouse in located in a very remote location, and it might not be the ideal wingsuit hight 1500ft. +, but other then that what makes it such a bad idea. From what I have been told its around 900ft. sheer, 1400ft. over all with a steep talus. I don't know much about this site, so please let me know if i'm being mislead or you know something everyone else I've talked with doesn't.
