I have a Catalina-27 that's close in size to what you have. But mine was actually floating when I bought it.

I can't say I disagree with the posts over on Sailnet. I'm not sure you realize the bag of worms you're into. You can get an oldie but goodie that you can sail right away in that class for a couple grand if you look around.

If you haul it out and put it in your backyard for a hobby project and you enjoy that sort of thing then fine. But just know ahead of time everything stamped "Boat" costs big bucks. It's just like anything stamped "airplane."

Boat (noun, verb)
Def: a hole on the surface of the ocean surrounded by fiberglass that one throws money into.

All true. Just became a proud owner my self. 37 Endeavour ketch. There are still a few houres left to my ownership of it. It looks like Ike is about to hand me about ten grand in proffet in under a month. Now that's how you buy and sell a boat. I just wish I hadn't payed $2000 for the bottom job. This so sucks. It was such a nice boat.
