Bored city dwellers may have found an extreme new way to get high - base jumping off the Xxxxxxxxxxx.
A witness called Police at 9.27pm on Friday after seeing a man carrying a suitcase floating down from the iconic building in Xxxxxxxx,. Police rushed to the scene within 10 minutes, but could not find anything.
A shocked resident of the building said her son-in-law was having a cigarette on the balcony when he saw several men parachuting past.
"He heard a swishing sound and he saw them. There were five or six of them and they landed on top of the trees facing the Road next to the site of Xxxxxxxxxx Residential Home.
"There were lots of photographers down there and they were being filmed. By the time the police and ambulance got here, they were gone."
The resident, who condemned the act as highly dangerous, added: "It could have been that someone left the gate open and someone got up on the roof. There's no other way they could get up there.""
