We have a very nice site in the northwest that has had the fence cut recently. This object has been enjoyed and preserved for years by local jumpers. Whether this was done by newbies or by someone passing through it has the local experienced jumpers pissed. When this happens it makes the experienced locals more reluctant to share this site with anyone. I am willing to share with responsible jumpers to keep this from happening. It seems we have some new jumpers that need to learn some Base ethics.

Dude, unless you have reason to suspect jumpers, it's a lot more likely to be metal scrap thieving bastards.

It is definitly jumpers, a section of fence that is normally crawled under.

No lie, that happened down here at a awesome local free stander. Some rednecks broke into the compound by pulling open the gate w/ their truck and stripped the wire off the tower. They broke wire spools taking all the copper and leaving a mess everywhere. Not to mention the did donuts around the light pole at the base. Its been sketchy ever sense. Cops were lurking around the last time i went out there. Didn't even get to jump There are redneck hillbillies out there sneaking around towers, just for the wrong reason. Lets get some moonshine and have fun. Anyone else have a similar situation.

The fence was trimmed to make it easier to crawl under, it wasn't much but now it's obvious. I'm not on a witch hunt here. I don't want the object burned, there is no scrap value at the site. If it is new jumpers don't rape & burn a site that has been preserved for years. If you are going to jump it, do it right, leave no trace.

 
The scrap metal thing is a meth thing. We've seen the same shit around here with people breaking into trailers and stealing the wireing and plumbing. I recamend you stake the place out with a gun and put the poor bastards out of their missery.

I dont see what the big deal is the hole makes it easier to get in. Its not like the workers are going to care either. you think they are going to hire a security guard to watch the place. you guys should stop crying and start thanking the guy that hooked yall up with the sweet new entrance.

No it's a lot cheaper in the bottom line of budget to just install IR sensors and alarms over human for perimeter security . You got to be joking with that 'Quit your crying bullshit' That's a pretty fucking PunkAss attitude. Is there something wrong with you ? The bigger Point is not to piss-off the owners and continue to Trespass and jump objects till you can't anymore.

You know I normally don't say anything unless I see something very ignorant like what this guy said.Anything that draws attention to a site is bad.You are supposed to leave everything back the way it was when you got there.Didn't your mentor teach you anything.
I DON'T KNOW ABOUT SOME OF THESE NEW JUMPERS NOW A DAYS.NO RESPECT FOR THE SPORT OR OTHERS.THEY WILL ALL LEARN EVENTUALLY,AND MOST LIKELY THE HARD WAY

Everybody is jockeying to become the new Maggot . . .

The problem, if it's a tower, is they will eventually notice it. Either an engineer or a maintenance crew will and they won't just blow it off. At one time they would've just stood around the hole scratching their heads and thinking, "WTF would someone do that for, what's the point?"

But now with BASE all over TV, movies, and Youtube they will know exactly what it means. And you can be almost sure they will do something about it. It's cheaper to put in some security devices rather than face the possibility of being sued by an injured jumper. (Not that it would happen, but they fear it will).

The flip-side of increased non-illegal jumping, and the publicity it generates, is you have to be way more careful with the other kind of BASE jumping . . .
