I've killed several hours and virtual jumpers
playing this game while watching the clock

Alright... i got 472m. I guess that's good? fun game! Are there any other skydiving or jumping games out there?

edit: just found a badass base jumping and skydiving game from D3 Engine

just flew 1,508m! There's the first number to beat, you must land under a open parachute though... skidding doesn't count as extra

1593m, I will keep trying until my wife cuts me off.

I really hope that you guys are talking km, not m. Sixth try I got 1604163m, or 1604.163km. You know that you set both the amount of tension in the catapult, as well as the angle of the "blocking arm", right? The purple clouds help you too...
