Is BASE more dangerous than skydiving?
I know, I know BASE really is a lot more dangerous than skydiving, but I just had my first jumping injury, a premature opening that resulted in a dislocated shoulder that is going to need surgery, while skydiving. I find that I have taken skydiving a lot less seriously since i've taken up BASE. On that particular jump it was now call and neither myself nor any of the other guys I was on the load with were geared up yet so I told them to gear up now and threw on my shit, never checking a thing or asking anyone else to give me a gear check. While BASE jumping I check, double check and tripple check. I was just wondering if anyone else has mistakenly taken skydiving too lighly after making a few BASE jumps?

your own gear is all you have dude......
check and triple check your shit no matter what the scenario is..........
skydiving can kill you right quick if you act like an asshole and take for granted the black death...........

LMAO

I used to love walking up on Tandem students as they struggled to understand the legalize of the waiver. Skydive Houston's waiver back then had a copy of a canopy warning label as the last page.

I would politely snatch the waiver from them, flip it to the last page and say deadpan "Here's the summary. Caution, you could be seriously killed doing this."

Most folks actually saw the humor in it!! Just signed and went on their way.
