FJC and death camp
Hey. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between an FJC and a death camp. I think that it's something like death camp if for people with no experience, but I wasn't sure.
Thanks ahead of time.

Re: [showithers] FJC and death camp
the death camp run by snake river base academy is a 7 day course run twice a year, memorial day and labor day weekend. it is essentially free, you have to meet some guidelines and apply, generally there are 5 students per class.
the fjc run by snake river is usually 4 days and the information can be found on the website.

I would contact the above link and talk to the people that run the course... I think they would have the most upto date info, no?

The way I see it... 2 different things

FJC is a course that teaches the basics of base to a somewhat prepared student.

Death camp is a crash course into surviving a base jump with no previous parachuting experience. The concept is crazy and funny, and it's been done succesfully many times! I'm not sure if any real death camper has gone in on their virgin jump, but there is a guy on the list, Fred, a frenchman who deathcamped himself and died.

Tom's death camp is not an actual death camp, just nicknamed I think after a bunch of his students printed t-shirts that said they attended Tom's Death Camp 2004 (or sth similar). I am one of his "death camp" students, and this is they way I remember it being discussed.

Whenever death camping is mentioned in a conversation, one thing pops in my head every time.. The famous death camping scene in Radix. Yonkles and seat belts, classic!! Laugh
