Just wanting to collect some info on this really.

Whats your longest (intentional or unintentional) slider down/off delay?

and if it was too long ....did you get hurt and how

has anyone gone much more than 5 secs?

Was your canopy damaged in any way after an unintentionally long delay

I think The Pick should answer this one.

I've done 4.5 sec/delay with a 46''pc. No damage to gear but it did make me see stars.

I know a norwegian jumper who did a unintentional slider down terminal jump from K. Nothing broken and no canopy damage but his body was sore for months... that's what he told me...

one girl did 7 sec,unintetional....both brake attachments rip of the risers,...canopy ok,...landing with rear risers,...
felt a little sore for weeks...

I had just landed when I looked up and saw this opening. After 17 seconds he had an extremely hard opening. We didn't understand why before we saw his slider (see attachment).
After what he told me his body was aching for a month. He only did one more jump on that canopy after that. The canopy didn't fly straight anymore, so even thought the fabric looked fine I guess the stitching went bad and the canopy was replaced.

Leaving a canopy packed for months without a pilot chute to give you a clue about the pack job is a bad idea :)

Accidentally took a Mojo 280 slider down out of a cessna,
pilot gave me a good cut, and I pulled the shopping bag
off of the canopy within 1 second after exit - damn man
that shit hurt, the painful lesson learned was to NOT get
distracted while packing. Canopy was fine but I wasn't!
I just hung in the harness till landing, flaired, and cried.

Man that is fucked Up if he did that delay slider Down.
I was going to say maybe the guy just did not run his break-lines threw the slider grommets and Rings and just packed Slider-up. but on looking, I see the Slider Bumper over the slider grommet in the Pic. to lock slider down. So must have been a slider-Up term. jump.
I have done a 4.96453 Sec. No-Slider on Vid. (just a 100th fraction under 5-Sec.) delay 'Once' with a 220 Cruzlite with 600 flat Dacron lines and a 42" PC. Was hard enough opening for me to look-up and do a fast line check.

edit to add:
The timer stops on Delay. When the PC is pitched. And when it's over 5-Sec. on the delay and you 'Pitch' with slider Down. The canopy bottom skin is ' Open.' and flat, at the Pitch ...
