Crinkly/ wrinkled F111 fabric.
So, I have this blackjack with zp foreskin, best canopy made. end story.

BUT after ~140 jumps on her, one half water landing (not soaked, but a little wet), the fabric seems to have gotten permanently wrinkled, as it looks when its been stored stuffed in a stashbag for a long time. but i keep it packed, 90-95% of the time.

I do live a relatively dry climate, but that cant be all of it.

can I reverse that? short of taking an iron to it? pack it with a humidifier on high? store it packed in a warm, wet place for a week?

it would just be easier to pack, you know?

Maybe put it up on a hanging bar for a while??? Or lay it out like you are going to flat pack with a humidifier nearby????

I would say thats an excellent idea... good call.
I have packed with a humidifier dumping on it, seemed to make packing easier, but thats it. and only lasted for that packing session.
Ill leave it like that for a week with the humidifier on high, in a room.
thanks!

maybe clean it as well? with a damp cloth? (kinda like the directions say)

What size is it? You could send it to me and I will pack it and jump it slider down repeatedly in the south Texas humidity....then send it back just as soon as all of the wrinkles are gone.

Flake it out on it's side as precisely as you can.

Stack it. B onto A, C onto B, D onto C ... then the tail just needs to be set up on top minus wrinkles.

Basically it's one half of a pro-pack.All the lines are straight up with all the fabric to one side. Match all the seams as best you can. Pushing the fabric between the folds to the outside so there are no wrinkles anywhere. Match all the seams at the bottom as well.

Just put a bunch of books or boxes on top of it to mash it flat and leave it.

Do wrinkles really matter?
I mean your canopy performance?
Your packing? My shit's wrinkled in all , and my tarp's flying the same and packing the same.
But vanity?
Kinda gayTongue
Real BASE jumpers have wrinkles and scars, don't forget IT!

word to the jumper!

I have an old Fox that's doing the same thing. It's already tight in the container so I'm noticing it a lot. I'm seeing that since it's harder to pack, my pack job isn't as clean once in the container, and that's perpetuating the whole situation.

hahahaha.... lame. Tongue

nope, I like clean canopies. new shiny fabric. I am a BASE jumper, not a bum.

I don't mind vanity. especially in my BASE gear. I don't like seeing old grungy jumpers with velcro rigs and packjob ears sticking out the corners.
and I like my packjobs to fit nicely in the container.

I am jumping in WI now, and i LOVE the humidity, it makes the fabric butter and slide into the container perfectly.

pack volume and ease of packing are my only qualms.
