Multi Points Revisited
Hi folks, I've done the search but as time changes so do opinions so please bare with me.

Who jumps a multi point bridle? If so can you highlight why and if you dont could you highlight why.

Right now I dont have one and to be honest im pretty happy with that on my own personal thoughts. But im trying to hear others so i can make a more educated choice.

Re: [Andy_Copland] Multi Points Revisited
I jump a Flik w/Multi and have jumped with and without it installed. I have not noticed much difference between the two configuration however in reviewing photos and video the canopy appears much more uniform/controlled as it reaches line stretch. I recently saw a photo of a single attachment point opening and you could cleary see the center cell being stripped and the nose of the canopy starting to deform. I did not see the inflation of the canopy but it looked like a recipe for an offheading to me. There's also some video around, probably on Apex's website, that some pretty clear difference in opening characteristics with and without the multi.

Re: [tfelber] Multi Points Revisited
I was ease dropping on a FJC the other day, and heard that multi's were made for slider UP deployments.

Personally, I don't do enough of those (and if you're over in KY still, i'm assuming you don't either) to justify it.

To add to that, the only 180s on PCA i've ever heard of were all on a canopy with a multi.

Re: [AndrewKarnowski] Multi Points Revisited
I think the way we pack nowadays has negated the need for the multi somewhat. When Basic Research/Apex came out with the multi we were still doing no clamp fluff type pack jobs in big Velcro closed BASE rigs that made it easier to yank out the center cell. A good tight pack job is what now prevents that.

There's a good argument still to be made for the multi on terminal deployments, but enough of them are being made without them to somewhat negate that too. The bottom line is they are probably better for inexperienced packers with sloppy pack jobs, and also good overall as they, add a bit of complexity, but don't hurt anything after all in the end.

You're asking andrew? I'll answer for him. About a 3rd of the way out on the bridge with a nice headwind, unpacked. Sly

Re: [Andy_Copland] Multi Points Revisited
I can't say for slider up but I can say my FOX with the single point attachment had better onheadings than my FOX or Flik with the multi. I now jump a Black Jack which has a single point attachment and I've got great on heading preformance. I figure if the multi was so great everybody would have multi point attachments by now. But the only thing I have seen in my BASE jumping career that has locked on is the tail gate.
