also, instead of linking the video here, why not use the video section? Sangiro has added a method to link to youTube. viewers can then comment, grade, etc. it seems like a much better method IF you want feedback. see clicky.

since the video contained a ton of BASE jumping, why put the post in "The Hangout?"

as a BASE jumper, I found the video to be stylish Russian Roullette. granted, showing planning and risk management may not make for great video. the video makes the jumping style look like an accident waiting to happen.

does he exhibit confidence? yes.
does he exhibit skill? yes.
does he exhibit care and planning? not in that clip.

how can I moderate without judging?

I was attempting to keep this thread alive without it degenerating into a flame fest.

I was attempting to honor the following policy:

yep, moderators get to judge. in my opinion, you have presented an overly assertive/aggressive/hostile attitude in this thread. I ask that you restrain it.

please remember...
"you agree that, if asked, you will yield to the requests of the forum moderators"

and finally, if you wish to continue to contaminate YOUR thread with this off-topic dialogue, I intend on splitting it off into it's own thread.

I don't think we do (look like an accident waiting to happen). For example, I'm sure most base jumpers would opt out of a piggyback tard from a cliff.

Moderators, like any other poster, are entitled to express their opinions on topics discussed in these forums.

Expecting Moderators not to have and express opinions is silly. Who would be willing to go to the trouble of moderating a forum if they weren't interested in the content?

Without paying people (and no one involved in this web site is getting paid--there's just about enough money generated from ads to pay the costs without paying any of us) to moderate, it's unlikely you're going to get a disinterested person to pay attention to posts enough to actually moderate any discussion.

BASE is a serious sport with serious consequences. (it is also a ton of fun.)

take a break from this website. it really functions well when people use it to share information and help each other. unfortunately, you appear to have nothing to offer, prefering simply to amuse yourself. you remind me of a spoiled child demanding attention.
