Other gear
What about the possibility of having reviews of gear other than canopies and container systems on the website? Would it be useful to have a section for other items relating to BASE such as cameras, boots, tracking pants + wingsuits etc.?
Cheers

Re: [Nevadal] Other gear
It's quite easy to do. Can you write up a list of suggested categories and what you'd like to see in them? I can create the categories and then you can add in the items.

Re: [TomAiello] Other gear
I haven't got much to input into the categories myself, but I would assume that information about the following could be useful to those looking for details on how a particular product (possibly initially designed for skydiving) performs in a BASE environment. It might be an idea to keep the number of categories smaller to begin with, and possibly expand them into separate sections if there is sufficient input.

Wingsuits and tracking apparel
Protection (this could include sub-categories of helmets, armour and boots)
Photography (sub-categories of still and video)
Electronics (including radios/scanners, GPS, altimeters, flashlights - any electronic equipment that might be taken on a jump)
Other equipment (including stashbags, first aid gear, and other items that may be useful
on a particular jump)

Do any more experienced people have any ideas as to what might be useful?

This wouldn't be hard either, right!?

Re: [Nevadal] Other gear
I'm not sure we would get many entries in the categories that have a lot of crossover with other sports, particularly other parachuting sports. Say if I were looking to buy photography equipment, I'd first go to dropzone.com, as they have a whole forum for that subject.

I recently bought a new skydiving helmet, but it was actually made for snowboarding because it had the right crossover of features that I needed. Likewise, good boots for BASE are often paragliding boots, or simply plain ol' hiking boots. So, what might be more useful is a series of articles for various equipment simply listing what features to look for that are necessary in the BASE environment. (I recall that many of these existed on the old basewiki, or at least there was a framework for them, so that probably exists here on the new site too.)

Actually, that is impossible for me to do. You'll have to ask Sangiro, because I don't have the ability to change that.
