Re: [bmsbase] any other Heli pilots here?
I was always interested in helicopters as I made my first hundred jumps from them when I was in the Marine Corps. After my discharge I went to Northrop U for my A&P License and then went to work for a company that did Helicopter maintenance with the idea of getting my ticket to fly.

My first job was standing on creaky wooden box holding a piece of cardboard against the spinning rotors of Bell 47. If you pulled the cardboard away with a single mark the blades were in trim, two marks meant the blades need tweaking. It was the scariest thing I ever did in aviation.

I did manage to log a few hours of dual in a Engstrom and a few in a Robinson, but the money was an issue so that was the end of that . . .

hey guys thanks for posting

...bmsbase i will pm you shortly with my info...

...nick i have heard of that, thats a great story not too many people have got to be a part of that. it was the old way of tracking the old bell products (47 and 204 mainly, i guess Huey too) thats really neat.

i have a little over 2000hours now, Mainly on the astar series (Ba, Ba+,B2, D+) and a bit on 206, 206L, 407 and ec120... oh ya and back in my training days some R22 time but i am glad i have all but forgotten those flights. the Astars are a great machine for a daily driver i mainly work in mining/exploration work (thats where the money is) moving drills.

not a base jumper by any means actually i am just looking for a school to do my A license here to start into skydiving. i have been reading reading and more reading about basejumping for about 3-4 years now and will end up there before too long no doubt about that. its not going anywhere so i am going to do it right.

i do like the rush i will say, used to work as a bungee jumpmaster a few years back and have 100+ of those jumps under me... flips, gainers, etc ill tell you you can catch a buzz from that too.

i am living in northern BC these days and if anyone is from that neck of the woods drop me a pm would love to chat with you
