Anyone out there with any opinions on this model of container? Cheers.

Re: [Rover] Odyssey FX container.
When was it manufactured?

I owned one that pretty much sucked (I ended up sending it back to the manufacturer without requesting or receiving any kind of refund). I know another guy who had one he really liked.

I heard last summer that Colin might be making some more, and if that's the case I haven't seen one of the new ones.

Re: [TomAiello] Odyssey FX container.
I knew that you had some issues in the past with this container as I found a thread on Blinc about it. I tried to find more info on the clicky that was there but it's no longer available. Maybe time expired?

I believe the container in question was manufactured more recently - in the last couple of years. So far all the reviews that I have read have been generally positive. Can you elaborate on the issues that you had? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to drag it through the forums.

Thanks.

Re: [Rover] Odyssey FX container.
My container had poor closure (it was very loose, with no stiffener in the pin cover flap, and I didn't feel that it would stay closed at high airspeed).

It also had pretty poorly designed riser covers. They were overbuilt (three different flaps) but still couldn't stay closed when you were putting the rig on.

I think I was the one that told Tom Colin was making gear as of late.

Is the FX the 2 pin system?

I know of 3 rigs he has made in the last few years... and I know the 3 guys that have them.... They were made last may/june for a few newbies... Those guys really like them and still jump them regularly with no problems. I don't know if colin is interested in making more gear, especially for people he doesn't know though... he wasn't very healthy last time I saw him.

I thought Lonnie used to be a dealer for Colin, he may have more info on the equipment...??

Re: [Rover] Odyssey FX container.
I know a few guys in Ontario that absolutely love them. Lonnie would definitely be a good person to ask.

Re: [Fledgling] Odyssey FX container.
I'm one of the guys from Ontario and really like my Odyssey FX container I've put almost 300 jumps on it and love it; looks and all.
Collins been sick, so I don't know if been making them lately. Everyone I know around here is jumping one; about 10 local jumpers. Most have 2 rigs.

Re: [Rover] Odyssey FX container.
I have 2 FXs. Both made in 2005.

I have a little over 500 jumps between the two FXs and just over 100 jumps on other containers.

As an all-round container, I love these.

My riser covers have never come open when they shouldn't have.

I have used these for everything from slider off aerials to wingsuit flights and they work great.

Lonnie is the best guy for specific questions about any particular FX.

Re: [Rover] Odyssey FX container.
I own two of these and have had two others that I have passed on to my jumping bro's I have also had a gargoyle and I have friends with pro's
Personally I find the Odyssey fx to be the best all around container. From freefalling low stuff stowed with your flaps closed to arials, teminal and sub terminal to ripping it up on a wingsuit. I have never had anything come out when it shouldn't or not come out when it should. These containers rock.
now I would not put a 260 into a container that was designed for a 310 as that may cause you to have a premy but hey that should be common sense.
