Four BASE jumpers celebrated “Leap Day” with a 7:30am jump from the roof of the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel in downtown San Diego.

Red Bull sponsored the promotion, saying these were the “first-ever legal BASE jumps in the City of San Diego.” There is a slideshow on the local news outlet. (Don't know how to make it clicky.)

thats pretty sweet. we jumped a hyatt last nite as well. at 3am. but it was only 19 stories, and it wasnt on the news.

Last time, I thought about being very specific on which room I wanted... But, they say - don't mix work and pleasure.

Wow, that "hating" thing. It sounds so Orwellian to me.

However after reflection, yes, maybe I do understand.

I was young and dumb and just wanted the world to understand BASE like I did.

But, I'm not so sure now that was the best course.

So anyway, in 1994, I burned the Hyatt in San Diego to the ground and long before Red Bull did it.
