dent du géant, mountblanc
i konw that the dent has been jumped several times. (i read articles in the magazin "vertical"). i knew about a wingsuit flight, landing at the aiguille du midi. there were also pictures about non wingsuit jumpes. did they (you) also jump the west side, landing on the glacier du géant?? did they jump southwest peak or north northeast peak? i know there is always dense fog. any problems with canopy control, because the warm airstream from italy meet's the cold airstream form france at the glacier? i'm just interested, so if anybody knows something........

Re: [marcg] dent du géant, mountblanc
went up there some time ago. didnt look for exit as i wasnt really into basejumping, but took off from the base on the italian side with a paraglider. september is ideal for the meteorological conditions and the long days.

some pictures attached, and some others on http://www.skyandsummit.com/dentdugeant

from what i remember there should be two options. the south-west face (where you usually go down by rappelling) seems jumpable, around 120-150m.

the best side seems to be the eastern limit of this face (facing the grandes-jorasses), then you can go either for italy (right) or for france (left) after opening.
i would go for a slider down with an oversized PC because of the altitude, 3 sec., french side. but that's just me : )
