Bridal length.
Whats yours..? and what container/canopy are you using?
I was inspecting a new rig and found the bridal length was 8.3ft..... less than what I thought was standard ( >9ft) ...measured bottom pin to PC attachment.
I read an interesting article on Blinc regarding the (obvious) problems of short bridals ....as well as bridals that are too long and had 'assumed' the 9ft standard was followed by all.

I'd be interested to read what variance there is between the manufacturers on pin rigs....and any reasoning/justification for that difference.

Re: [Zoter] Bridal length.
Dagger 222, 9' bridal- all delays for wingsuit I use the 13' off blackjack

Blackjack-ZP 260 13' bridal- all delays and wingsuit.

I have actually had a PC hang up in A/B lines twice with the dagger and 9' bridal, never with the 13.

8.3 is normal for velcro rigs because your shrevel flap is part of your bridal
was it a velcro rig

Re: [1072] Bridal length.
After returning from the bridal shower, I measured the bridle from my original CR Perigee Pro at 1/2 inch shy of 9 feet after the PC was attached. Unattached, it's a full 9 feet.

I have a Russian pin rig manufactured in (2004?). Its bridle is just a tad over 8 feet (8.3 sounds about right). I never knew it was short until I arrived at Bridge Day in 2006 and got some funny looks at gear check-in.

The rig is an Atmosphere from ParaAvis. I'll be picking up a 2007 version of the Atmosphere on Thursday and will be sure to check and see if they've lengthened the bridal over the last three years.

CR did the same thing with their very early Perigee Pros. They simply took the 9' (velcro) bridle and stuck the pins on it, reducing the length a bit. The started making specific pin bridles that were 9' from bottom pin to PC after a short while.

I also have an early model Prism which has a bridle that is 9' overall (end to end), so that it is noticeably shorter from pin to PC. I'm not sure if this bridle was the original that came with the rig, though.

Always wondered why mine was a bit short Smile Have ordered a new one now anyway because the PC attachment loop is annoyingly small.

Are bridals measured from the first pin or the entire length?

Different manufacturers use different methods, unfortunately.

I've measured "9 foot" bridles from various manufacturers and come up with "pin to PC" distances from 7 1/2 feet out to 10 feet.
