Hi Guys! does anyone have experience with a super raven III slider up? the canopy is base modified and has a mesh slider,freefall range up to 3sec and 3 sec plus heading not much of an issue,as these are balloon jumps from 500 to 1500ft.I need the slider to soften the openings dont what to get a shocker due to past injuries

I only have limited experience with a Super Raven slider up from tall towers, maybe 20-30 jumps. But as I remember, the openings were brisk and on heading. I never had the 'snivel' that some claim is a characteristic of a Raven when using a slider. Not saying that they don't, or won't, just I never had mine to snivel.
Just thinking out loud, if I was jumping from a balloon from 1500', no wires to hit, I'd probably make some adjustments to my packjob if I was wanting to try to slow the opening.

I have a Raven2 with base mods that i've jumped in the 40-50 second terminal range with a slider. the slider I've been using is a small mesh that goes to a Mojo 240. The openings have been slower than with my Ace 240, but not scary or anything, but enough that a little wind can play with the opening heading more than I'd like.

It seems the snivel problem lies with Ravens 1-4 DOM prior '88.

Raven III, kinda pro packed, rolled and exposed nose, no wrapping the tail, slider up, 2-3 sec delay, nice on heading, just a wee bit of snivel.

About 40 jumps with a Raven III slider up (from 3 sec to terminal). Never had any snivel, and just 30 off heading max.
