As someone who is hoping to make a BASE wingsuit jump, the botched exit at 2:15 caught my eye. Can anyone tell me specifically what might have gone wrong there? To me, it looks like he popped up way too much on the exit.

I ran into Stane at ITW last summer, and he suggested exiting as though I am standing chest-deep in water and pushing forward to swim. That's definitely not what I see there. There seems to be a lot more "pop" in the exit at 2:15 than I have seen in most successful exits.
