Re: [hookitt] Pullups on a crane
It looks like they went out for a night of drinking (notice sport blazer) and woke up from their blackouts with a phat cocaine line and decided that was a great idea. it took 45 minutes for the one with the idea to spit it out because the others kept interupting. but alas, he said it and of course they followed in order to believe it with their own eyes. in the morning (err, afternoon) the only reason they remembered was because it was on their bigscreen paused, along with white lines, half empty redbull vodkas and a few whores lying around. or notCool

Watching that video, I feel two strong, conflicting emotions. The first is my instinct for survival, which would have me holding onto the crane for dear life. The other is the call of freefall, which sings to me and tells me how free I would feel if I just let go and fell.

A long time before I started BASE jumping, my biggest concern in high places wasn't that I'd fall, but that I'd forget what would happen if I jumped. What I wouldn't give just to be able to leap off a crane like that, and stick the landing with no parachute. That's the stuff dreams are made of.

I know lots of jumpers who have this feeling (including me). I've been out on an exit point without a rig before, with several people literally saying to themselves "ok...no rig...remember...no rig..."
