Been done in the early 90's by a French guy named Alain Prieur. They use 2 different plane, he was wearing a harness with riser outfitted with "B12" type quick connectors. Patrick Passe "swooped in the canopy put in a free bag type deployment system with two rings sticking out of the bag for the risers to attach to. The bag was attached to his chess with a cutaway system. He would just dock on Alain, at which time Alain hooked up the riser, the bag was the release from Patrick chess and the canopy would be deployed when the bag was released. Patrick de Gayardon was flying back up with a tandem rig just in case.

They did this LIVE on French TV, I have a Copy of the tape. Alain was later killed while doing the stunt at an airshow. It is rumored that he did that jump 5 or 6 times. A malfonctioned canopy killed him, not failure to get it to them in freefall"



As for the base jump I don't know much info, apart from what we see in the video?! old skydive rig with spring pilotchute and chest handle with a RSL operate motorbike's round parachute!

Respect! Amazing calmness and body control during the reservepull in Verdon. The french boys rocks! Patrick de Gyardon was my "role model" when I started to get closer to fullfill my dreams...A real inspiration...

Guys like this were liked by most other jumpers they interacted with. Beautiful open personalities...The ego clowns of today are mostly "liked" by their 13 years old "fans", and not by other jumpers...Wonder why....

I agree with everything you have said.

Old time jumpers like Patrick de Gayardon really love the sport of parachuting (either skydiving or base jumping)..............they had also sponsorship, but any commercial spot had be done with respect to the sport
rather than the usual today energy drink monkey which drink red bull or go fast in front of a camera before exiting the aircraft...

Base jumping and Skydiving must remain poorly for people to have fun.....

Sponsorship for professional guys are not bad as fare as is done in a respectful way for the sport.
