Let me start by telling you a little about the Nova. The nova was supposed to be the hot new canopy back in the day. and everyone wanted one. until it stared collapsing for no apparent reason and killing jumpers. Until finally it got so bad that jumpers started burning the canopies. IN the DZ's bonfires

So now we have the BASEX a canopy designed by a guy with five jumps at bridge day
and 4 off the prinne.
A less than stellar education no physics back round. And no plans of jumping the rig unless hes at a big legal event, All this will happen only if he can get the thing to open

I say don't selling tat canopy is like giving some drunk a loaded gun, and telling him it's not loaded.

My self and the group of guys I jump with have decided that none of us will jump with anyone using that gear. Nor will we help them in advice on BASE

We should be buying gear from base jumpers designed by base jumpers
and jumped by the people that build it, and stand by there product.

there's lots objects very near to sonics loft but he wont jump
any of them. I guess he has as much faith in his gear as I do

Calm down I don't think the community is in any danger of new jumpers showing up in droves with their new BASEXs. There are plenty of manufacturers to choose from who know what the acronym "BASE" stands for.

not to be confused with basejumping. where one actually makes basejumps, often as not alone,at night, and dosent tell anyone.

Well, as inclined as I am to believe it....

I had 2 different skydivers say to me in the last 2 weeks... blah blah blah... Sonic's gear....

The danger is that there is a crop of people that aren't doing any research getting into base saying "hey, that's cool" without really knowing the difference between a real BASE manufacturer and some wannabee....

At some level, I think that if they decide to be uniformed and buy a piece of shit canopy and system that will probably kill them, then well, they deserve it for not doing the groundwork.

Then the nice part of me shows them the video from this site showing his canopy blowing up and explains what a real base manufacturer is and what real base gear is 'suppose' to do....

Just watch, there will be a buch of dunder-heads that buy this gear. It's just a matter of time before his well tested canopy, which he has been hocking since bridge day, even though it's fundamentally an untested piece of shit in the base world, kills someone. How many BASE jumps have been made on this canopy? I'd wager it's a rather small amount... Especially if they blow up slider down.

Kudos on them skydiving it, but if he really wanted to test it, and he wasn't using some bullshit excuse about the legality of jumps, he'd have taken it to at least Moab..... Where has it been test jumped, but 2 nice spans and out of planes? There are jumpers with a lot more than he has to lose jumping in the dead of night out here.

What's it going to take?

You know, anyone can say what they want about Magot, but Magot really is fundamentally the voice of reason deep down somewhere, and I know that bat-shit fucker wouldn't jump it.

Sonic's in it to make a buck. Otherwise he would't sell untested gear, borrow canopies from other manufacturers to steal ideas and try to steal business from the people that deserve it; real BASE jumpers.

One could give a student a 78 XOAS to base with and they would not
