Database of Personal Weather Stations
I giggled with glee when I found someone had a weather station within spitting distance of an object we are planning on jumping. Kind of takes all the fun out of driving 50 some odd miles just to find out the wind sucks.

WU is a great source of personal weather stations data.

I'm trying to get the funds together to have one put up near me.

If you're not a member, spend the few bucks it takes to make all the ads and crap disappear...well worth it.

usairnet.com

Not even close to WU PWS when it comes to the amount of raw data available, and desirable to BASE jumpers for particular smaller locations, and in real time with constant updates.

AirNet's page is a forecast for an airport.

Sorry, the little happy faces on the sun hidden by gray clouds made me find my unhappy place. The site I use works great for me, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Cool - thanks for the link. I have not used that website before, and it appears to be a very friendly interface. I added it to my weather favorites.

However, the object I was researching is in a very unique area. In fact, I used to do the production work for an outdoor concert gig in a very similar geographic area, and we named the event internally "windfest" when the real name was "summerfest". When I wanted to kite my paraglider, I went to that place - as it is like a wind tunnel, if you show up, the winds will be blowing.

USAirNet.com website's nearest station was 5 miles away in a completely different topographic zone. Last night I actually called a friend that was at that station and he went outside and said the conditions were dead calm.

I went to the personal weather station website and found two weather stations, each one less than a mile away, with the object dead center between them, with real time data proving that the winds were 6-7 MPH, with gusts to 13.

So that was why I was so stoked to find this site - because the realtime data was so close to the object...

Anyone else got good weather sites?
