Basejumper.com - archive

I've been away on the beach and noticed that access to dropzone.com from Egypt and India is denied, while basejumper.com works fine. Is it a bug or a feature?

There were too many scams posted in the classifieds from North Africa, and Sangiro blocked a whole chunk of IP's in that part of the world as a result. He can unblock specific parts for real users (he did this for a BASE jumper who found his regular connection blocked in Kenya, for example) if you ask him to, and can tell him the IP address.

Wouldn't work too good for internet cafe access

Might be better to open access, but list IPs as suspicious in the classified?

Unfortunately, the PM system has also been abused to send scam messages.

You can't access dropzone.com from the Twin Falls libary either.

That's the library. They block a lot of stuff because of the number of children using those machines.

They didn't have basejumper.com blocked. Nor did they have egwingsuits.com blocked, and that's like a gay pride parade online.

If you're worried about the internet safety of library patrons, I'm sure you could report those sites and ask to have them blocked.

I just got 2 scam attempts from PGforums, trying to sell a glider.

419 scam.

18months ago i had a lot of fun messing with a scammer. I kept telling him i was not getting the checks, and I had the cash ready to send to him. he figured it out after 3 checks, and got all pissed, called me and everything. I emailed the feds on a 419 site, they said it was hopeless.

I got like over 10 scams on craigslist, I just tell them no MO or bank check, cash only and you need to call because I have no internet connection and they just stop.
