is it normal to be jumping with a 38" PC on a subterminal wall, such as LB? also are bridle lengths all one size or do the bridal lengths differ on different delays? thank you

Re: [UberChris] PC's
I am in no way an expert so if this is a question to determine your next jump wait for a response from Tom or someone else... :) I have seen 38 and zp36 in lauterbrunnen. There were some not so smart guys doing handhelds off nose that probably or should have used 46/42 maybe? but for the 7-8 second YO zp36 0r 38... always a 9 fot bridle as far as I have seen. In lauterbrunnen and I am also pretty sure they require it at bridge day. There is a german bridge days from a 97 meter bridge they also require 9 feet. Hmmmmmm...... maybe this helps?

Re: [UberChris] PC's
My PC of choice in the valley is a 32" vented ZP. At any of those exit points, you should be getting 8+ seconds, which in my books is pretty much terminal. If I'm jumping something in the 4-8 second range, I'll pull out my 38" ZP PC.

On longer delays, I tend to lean toward smaller PC's delays, since just about anything will generate enough force, but too much force carries a serious risk of line dump. There's a lot more finesse in near-terminal deployment than there is in low-speed deployment.

On shorter delays, I lean toward larger PC's, since the forces generated are considerably smaller, and line dump becomes less likely. The main concern in the 0-4 second arena is generating enough drag to get your canopy out or the container in a timely manner.

Yes. 38's are pretty common there. I've seen plenty of 36's and some 32's there as well, but very rarely anything larger.

It's a little too broad to generalize about PC size in an area with that many exit points, though. I'd feel pretty comfortable with a 32 off the nose, for example, but not so much off easyflow.

9' is the standard BASE bridle for all delays. A good number of wingsuit jumpers are using longer bridles (11' or so) for wingsuit flights now, but that's not delay dependent--it's equipment dependent.

Re: [UberChris] PC's
PC size depends of following:
1. Wanted delay
2.Canopy size
3. type of the jump

1. Wanted delay ...
LB area for example (nose, la musse, yellow.. )
32-38 is OK, depends of # 2. and # 3.above
2. smaller canopy = smaller PC ( smaller canopy = less weight = less pull force need it )
3. Track jump w PF track gear = lower vertical speed and higher burble at pull time = bigger PC ( personal preference , but defiantly my suggestion.
or areal = higher vertical speed = smaller PC

Bridle = same for all.
To long bridle is not good cause it is prone to knot as well. This goes for WS as well. 10 ft bridle is just fine for all.
