Dan Osman was the father of what is called Rope Jumping http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rope_jumping

He was and remains the most audacious rope jumper on the planet. Dano is easily my hero, if I can only have one.

Some of the best BASE jumpers in the community today were climbing partners of his, and even helped him with his last system off the leaning tower.

there was nothing wrong with Dano's last system off leaning tower, it functioned well and was in good condition when Dan was killed. it was user error, on his last jump, He switched exit points and lines crossed and tangled during freefall. the rope failed the same way that line burnes happen on a canopy, fabric-fabric friction burn.
