Hello All,
going on a Paragliding/BASE trip for the new year.

29th-3rd on Kauai, 3-9th Oahu.

I'm hooked up for paragliding sites, but does anyone have any idea on where i should stay? broke college student, no hotels, MAYBE a hostel, camping or couch-surfing preferred. need a place to stash my rigs and other gear while flying, etc.

and more importantly, should I even bring BASE gear? I'm not into super sketch stuff/lz's, but Ill hit an moderate B or E or A[?] or S[?] or O. or ground crew for you sketchballs doing low scary stuff. no skydive rig, or even much spare money to airplane jump.

I am jealous. Hawaii was the second best paraglider flight I ever have had. The first being way to far into controlled airspace to ever publicly admit above a mountain site in Colorado.

To anyone in Hawaii - I can vouch, Calvin does not bite... Give him a place to stay.

I am the one who is jealous, getting into controled airpsace over the mountains in colorado means some SERIOUS freaking high altitude flying. I have never been that high, never even above 12,500msl, well, launching from the ground that is

I love Kauai - there is a state park on the north shore, next to the Napali Coast State Park - its called Ha'ena Park, camping on the beach, nice fresh water streams for bathing, etc...lots of free and easy going partiers...you do need to get a permit, but its not a big deal...

This is also the closest camping area to the Napali coast park - the trailhead is about a mile away, if you are doing paragliding, I'm guessing thats where you wanna be...

Tunnels beach is also close - big waves in winter, great snorkling in summer...one of the best surfing beaches in Hawaii.

hey guys, I'm off to Oahu from Kauai,

no PG flights but i did get 3 INSANE speed wing soaring flights from a small ridge near Kapa'a

I will be on the north shore at the Malaekahana camping for the next 2 nights. then maybe at dillingham. All i brought is my BASE gear...
