Thinking of moving to SLC
I am seriously thinking of moving to Salt Lake City in the next few months for a job and would like some advice from others who have lived there (especially those have relocated to SLC). The primary attraction for me is the skiing, but being within driving distance of TF and Moab (not an airplane ride and car rental away) is a BIG reason too.

Specific information on the following would really be appreciated:

1)areas of SLC recommended for a 29 year old guy who enjoys the city life and being able to walk to restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc. (I have no interest in the picket fence and cul-de-sac)

2)housing prices for a decent apartment in areas above

3)social activities for one that doesn't belong to the Mormon faith

4)the availability of non-Mormon single chicks (hell, I'm a single guy)

5)the deal on the nightlife...I'm not really into clubs but enjoy having a familiar bar to hang out during the evenings

I've heard the church can be a stifling social force if you're not a member. I try to mind my own business and don't really care about one's religion, but have you noticed it really affecting your activities (or lack thereof)?

If you have lived in SLC for several years, how do you feel about your decision now, after the novelty has worn off?

Thanks!

I'd suggest staying out, the snow is way too good, the women are way too cute, and the mormons are way too nice... now's where's that kool-aid?
