Re: [tr027] LRM
Given his location (Teheran), I'm highly doubtful he's got an experience local mentor. That's probably why he's asking basic questions here.
The Line Release Modification basically just means routing the control lines of the canopy outside both (a) the keeper rings on the risers and (b) the grommets of the slider.
The purpose of this modification is to allow the release of the control lines in the event that one of them is involved in a line over malfunction during the opening of the canopy.
Things to keep in mind:
1) This is only for slider down configuration. Routing the control lines outside the slider grommets when slider up will result in slow slider deployment, because one of the main drivers of the slider's motion is the outward pressure of the control lines caused by tail expansion.
2) Never route through the slider grommet without routing through the keeper ring. A blown toggle in such a configuration could result in a toggle/slider entanglement, potentially causing a stuck slider and high speed impact.
3) Always use a tailgate or similar line reefing mechanism (like painters' tape) when jumping slider down. The LRM is a secondary mechanism intended to solve a line over once it has occurred. Line control will prevent the problem in the first place, and prevention is always preferable to cure.
