Re: [pope] Where's the ABP?
I haven't been with the ABP for about 1.5 years. Robin Heid essentially "fired" some of us and restructured the ABP after many of the BOD (including Gardner) wanted him gone.

But yes, where is the ABP? We got a LOT of work done when Tom Aiello and I were a part of the ABP.

And what about Uhuck? I heard a lot of bad things so far.....

Why haven't you and T.A. done anything (or have you?) on your own?

Re: [pope] Where's the ABP?
I've been wondering the same question. The website seems a bit stale with no new info & errors coming up when you click certain links.

The Dec. issue of Skydiving has an article on p.20 written by Robin Heid announcing that joining of Rick Harrison as general counsel.

Re: [SpeedyG942] Where's the ABP?
Hey Speedy, I confess, I have agreed to help the
ABP by being their "General Counsel" whatever that really means. The goals are absolutely positive in an attempt to gain access for legal jumps off of cliffs in National Park units. The main reason I agreed to help is that trying to promote safe legal fixed object jumps worldwide is exactly the mission of the USBA started by Carl Boenish. It's even written on the back of the BASE cards Joy and I issue. The ABP goal , however is more limited than USBA and general BASE jumping which can involve issues of permision. The ABP mission is limited to backcountry access to our own public cliffs in America so we don't have to go to Europe, Mex. etc. to jump nice cliffs. While I very much support all efforts to get different BASE jumps legal as well as to increase the number of days allowed at New River, the ABP is limited to back country cliff jumps. Our approach is discussion and trying to convince the authorities that what we do is really fullfilling to the human spirit, and at the same time creates almost NO impact on the natural enviroment. Hey man, look at it this way, if we hike up and jump down, we only do half as much damage as a hiker who goes round trip. ABP is involved but it's just not as visible.
