found a part
Just did a local dam yesterday end of the day, in NE Spain. After landing picking up my parachute I saw the top of a release cable. The part where the yellow cable goes through + 1 mm of housing. I thought, that's weird, and continued stashing. Then I thought again and wanted to take it along but could not find it anymore in the vanishing light.

Why would such a piece be there? I know somebody got hurt (and later died) on that place, so all I can think of was that it is part of his equipment. That is, if it was cut in order to assist. Any clues?

I realize that I'm an idgit, but your description seems a bit unclear to me...could you be more specific/descriptive? A picture says a thousand words...
cheers.

I read it as the excess cutaway cable above where it passes through the type 2A loop on the riser.

Re: [hookitt] found a part
Hi pope,

It was the top metal part , end of the release housing. About 2 mm of the housing cable, and the flat metal part with the hole through which the line (which holds the yellow release cable) passes. Anyway, I did not find it again.
