I'll probable head back up again this year. I'm not sure where I'm heading yet. If people come with me I'll probable take them to Sam Ford. If I'm alone I'll head for Stewart or I might go all the way up to Pond and check out some cliffs up there.

I've posted a lot of this before. You might do a search. A lot of it is a question of how you want to go. The plane tickets are the pricey part. Simple transport to the fiord is normally $1000 round trip. If you were going to Sam Ford for example it's not that hard to move around from camp to camp with just a small sled depending on how much shit you bring. If there are several people it is possible to have a snowmobile and guide on site with you. Having a komotic on site makes it a lot easier to get around. You can carry more and live a lot more comphey. If there is a problem you get out a lot quicker. It's not cheep but with enough people you can spit it up with out it being too bad.

I like to go for longer trips. A lot of the expense is in getting there and I don't have a real life. I'll take off and go for two or three months at a time. This is my fifth trip. Left to my own devices I would probable go for about six weeks. Other people have real jobs and tighter schedules. Still I think you should plan for at least three weeks start to finish but you'd be better off allowing a full month. There can be delays in travel and there can be weather.

Hello,

I am in the early planning phase of another expedition to Baffin Island in May.

If there is enough interest and I can assemple a capable team, we will be going to Sam Ford Fjord again.

The trip will be similar to last year.

I'm planning on sending out invitations in the near future, so if you're interested in a slot, you can shoot me an email at dexterbase@hotmail.com

Be safe out there,
Chad Peabody
