Bridge Day 2007 – Video Festival
This year’s video festival was something of a trip back to the past. Gone were the professionally edited several thousand/s dollar productions (save one or two) and we went back to the root of what BASE jumping is - pure BASE jumps with a fresh perceptive on our Sport and that “home brew” flavor. Winners:
1st Place - Life’s a Journey – By Lonnie Bissonnette – Probably the best story ever told about a BASE jumpers journey from battling the beast, recovering, and then continuing his pursuit of the sport. Truly inspirational and shows what is at the heart of a pure BASE jumper and the Candadian BASE crew that help him to continue his journey.
2nd Place – Fly the Line – Boris Pecnik – Fly the line was offered an opportunity to enter this years contest again because of a rule clarification that was not clearly understood last year. Once again this is an insane vision of “Proximity flying” with the master of flight from Phoenix Fly.
3rd Place – Yeah Buddy Yeah – Sam Gouws – Proof that quality is not in quantity. This quick blitz of some very unique objects and challenging exit points really impressed the crowd and judges.
Honorable Mentions:
Sunny Days – Elliot Barstow
Klolorado – LeRoy Buckley
All videos are a must for your personal BASE collections.
Thank you to all who participated in both a contestant and spectator capacity and played the games with us throughout the event. My personal favorite was the “spinner”, do a shot, then race around the judges! Lots of fun and a great kickoff to a banner year in West Virginia.
Thanks to the judges Tom A, Hank, DT, and Tommy Bell... especially Hank for awarding "Donk's Video" 1st place... when I did not even have a video in the contest.

Special thanks as always to the Jason and Jen Bell, Bill Bird and the rest of the Bridge Day staff for making this year one of the best in recent memory and solidifying the popularity of BASE jumping at Bridge Day.
CU at Bridge Day 08!
Donk
PS: I’ll reserve my comments about a mass boycott of BD08’ for the appropriate thread.
