Whats the best way to start the sport?
I'm really interested in base jumping but I dont know where to start...I plan on skydiving for the first time in a few months...should I get skydiving experience under my belt before I do a begginers base jumping course?

Yes, doing at least 200 skydives before BASE jumping would be a good idea in my opinion. That means go do your tandem or go straight to AFF or Static Line, graduate, buy beer, get an A license, buy beer, buy skydiving gear, buy more beer, have fun doing lots of skydives, buy more beer, start training and learning about BASE, meet the locals (and don't forget the beer), then get BASE gear and take a formal BASE FJC.

P.S., I'm somewhat local, and I like good beer.

NOBODY will take you on for a proper base FJC 9first jump course) unless you have at least 150-200 skydives and are current in the sport.

Buy a big rig and become competent at classic accuracy using it with your BASE canopy, make 500 skydives, and then take a FJC.

Jumping with contemporary skydiving canopies doesn't teach you enough to land a BASE canopy in tight areas.

200 jumps from turbine aircraft don't take long enough for you to get a good feel for mortality and cultivate a respectful attitude towards parachuting sports.
