PC Technique for lower FF
Looking for opinions and info regarding PC technique for lower FF's.

I hear/read about:

1. the upward toss or 2. Pre-inflating the PC by holding it at the attachment point and just kind of leaving it there

Pre-inflating the PC and kind of leaving it there "seems" to me the better way to maintain a symetrical body position.

PM or email oc_baseAtyahoodotcom if you'd rather comment in private.

Practice, practice, practice, and then hope it doesn't hesitate at all. I heard it's good to swing like a hammer to preinflate. But I don't do dirty low FF that requires this.

I showed you the footage off that 172' near you didn't I? 20+ jumps like that, 1 offheading, no injuries. Pretty good numbers I'd say.

I have looked at some footage that was posted here by you a while ago. I wish there was some footage from the exit point perspective of an exiting jumper. The footage I saw was all from the landing area perspective.

I can't think of any exit point footage, but I'll check around.

done proberly i´d say its about the same..If any better i would say throughing upward..

throughing the pc upwards will give you a inflated pc before it pass your exitpoint, and mostlikely before, therefore it starts pulling before..

do the upward toss symetricly whith both arms then you maintain the good body position and almost ready to grap your riseres or toogles..

just my thourght.. havnt done low freefals in a year by now through..

The pre-inflation technique, done properly, can virtually eliminate the chance of a PC hesitation (because the PC is already inflated before you commit to the exit). Since inconsistencies, especially PC hesitation, are the real killers (or injurers) at ultra low freefall altitudes, this seems like a more powerful argument than body position symmetry, which can probably be maintained, given sufficient practice, with either technique.
