I didn't know what you were talking about. It had never happened to me before, and I thought maybe it was just your blocker missing it. Mine is set fairly high, and it just happened to me too.

I agree. I don't see pop-ups (but use Firefox, without Flash installed. Flash leads to a ton of useless "attention grabbers," i.e, "eyecandy." websites typically load much faster as well!)

I run AVG and I am setting it up to the MAX. to see if it will help block it out. fuck this shit.

shit was all over my computer at work but my laptop at home seems to be fine. I'm running windows vista and IE here and no problems...maybe just older browsers?

I agree with getting a Mac.....i haven't had a single popup or anything since converting 3 years ago..........But I'm sure running the latest software if you have windows ie. vista might solve it.

But the thing that really pisses me off about this site's ties to dorkzone.com is that any time you type the word "base", "base jump", or anything similar, it automatically links it to this website.

Any time some little dork gets on over there and says on the swooping forum, incidents, etc, that they haven't BASE jumped yet, but can't wait to, it sets up the hyperlink and steers them over here. Nice, very fucking nice...

It only seems to happen when you say, "BASE jump," or "BASE jumping."

The answer to that is to write it as B.A.S.E. but as grammatically correct as that is, it's a PITA . . .

I use firefox for Mac and PC, with the Flashblock, Adblock, and NoScript extensions installed (among others). NoScript takes care of popups great -- it blocks all javascript by default, which you can selectively enable (temporarily or permanently) for each site source.

I also use Adblock to block the 'basejumper.com' logo at the top of the page, as I work in an open office environment where people often walk behind me looking at my screen
