Taking a break from the gargoyles for a bit. Made this little figure out of normal pottery clay to see if the idea would work. Make another one with polymer clay and paint it, should look pretty cool.
First got to make a better one that could be mouldable obviously but yes, selling them could be an idea.
Also, there's get up and get off to make... coulod be a whole series of them. Ok, I'll slow down, I havn't even made a proper one with polymer clay yet...
haha, struggling a bit here to get polymer clay. It needs to be way better than that if I want to mould, paint and sell it.
It will happen eventually, on African time maybe, but it will happen...
Another one I think would be cool is a 80's BASE jumper, sort of like the attachment. A mullet, really old racer, heavy metal jeans (narrow at the bottom), a bsbd t-shirt, a huge PC and of course a spliff...
Ok, here's one I finished last night. Got hold of some 'Fimo' clay and it turns out to be real cool stuff. Sorry for the quality of the pics, it's been raining outside and I am too lazy to put my shoes on and take proper pics of the painted one. In this pose, it doesn't look too much like he is running. The pottery clay pose seemed more dynamic; Any way, it's not a problem I can't solve. As I was building it I was thinking that there is no way I have the skill at this stage to mould the thing. Well, going to get on with the 80's one. Simple pose; 2 or 3 moulds max should be a good place to start.
In "Escape02" - you need to tell your guy that, if he is going to do an unpacked jump from that window, that he better do a better job of flaking the canopy and organizing the lines before making the jump.
Thanks I seemed to have a bit of trouble posting attachments yesterday. Got some touch ups to do on the second one then paint it. Should look cool. Decided to go for the velcro rig for now rather than an old racer. Must get back to work; this movie has been pretty hectic... Finish on Wednesday; woohoo going to be jumping again!!!
Hey Nick, do you have any photo references of the rigs you guys wore in the 80's. I am still on the old Email but just in case the local telephonic service provider decides to cut me off again for non-payment could you mails the pics (if you want) to pocbase1ATgmailDOTcom
I know the rig was supposed to be black but I didn't think there would be enough contrast. The tin says matt grey but it came out glossy and looks like his rig is wet... there is a good deal on a compressor at the model shop down the road and it's about time I started spraying these things...

Thanks, I'd love to cast them at some stage but there are still many things wrong; on this one for example the eyes still need a lot of work, his left foot looks like a right foot, etc... practice makes perfect so the next one will be better than the last the one after that even better until I am confident I have something worth casting... besides, I still have a gargoyle to make and take up the mountain...
