Wingsuit question
Leaving the biggest part of this years season behind us I would like to know from people who used to fly the S3 and switched this season to the V2 like me what they think of their results. I would like to hear some comparing between the two like starts, angle, and speed. Gps results perhaps?

Thanks!

Re: [Ferry] Wingsuit season
Ok,ok.. Perhaps a little more specific questionSmile. V2 pilots, what to do after exit to get the suit flying quicker if you go for distance? I was told to go a little steep but I feel I go to steep and loose altitude.

wen i started wingsuit i was in kjerag on a s3 ,i used to go steep at first , the hardest thing i find is you have to teach yourself how to get the most out of your suit and i have had plenty of shitty flights .this year i started in lauterbrunnen high nose on a v2 with 5 skydives only had the suit a week , but you gotta get that fucker flyin a lot quicker and i am 100kg so i fall fast .in answer to your Q in my opinion i now get off and get it flyin as quick as i can you can trim your wing to gain more speed ...

Hecky,
What is your exit technique for getting the suit flying as fast as possible ? I've seen some cupping the arm wings down to grab air.

Re: [Ferry] Wingsuit question
results are very similar.

and that depends on the pilot Smile It is not plug and play..

Re: [Ferry] Wingsuit season
Well... It depends how you look and how able you are to feal the caracteristics of the flight.

Im 185 cm tall and weights about 78 Kg. (6 feet and 160 lbs)

IM quite flat and light. My troubble is that I am to light. There fore I have to fly pretty steep tp get my V2 in a more agressive ange. In this angle I will loose altitude in the beginning but I will allso create speed and power in my suit. With power and speed lift will come. You might not get a longer delay but you will cover the distance.

Offcource cover distace is the thing with the V2 along with controled agressive flights, Getting long freefalls is just boring and gives you numb arms.

I also keep my arms a bit towards my body, I do not streach the wings out I want them to be like to half-pipes pointing the gripper-sticks a bit upwards to my back to get the air flow clean.

I do the same with my legs . I keep them a bit in towards each other to get a half pipe formed wing.. this to get the clean air and better stability.

Though, have streach between your toes and your sholders. and between your sholders and you elbows.

easy hu!? :)

Re: [Ferry] Wingsuit question
Here is two examples in flight positions.

the first one (15.jpg) is in steep flight with a start of a carv turn (thats why I look a bit bended to the right). I give a lot of energy to the suit and building up power to do the carv turn

I the next picture Im right in the middle of the Carv and use all my power to spread the whole suit and leave the area where the photographer is standing. I only fly full spread when Im in the last moment pushing my self over a sertain poit. I never fly like this for more then 3-4 seconds.

Note the very important war-face look.

maybe this helped a little Ferry

Re: [MartinRosen] Wingsuit question
Aktually this photo was better in explaining the steep approach. THis is a bit more steep then you need for maximum distance cvering. this is mor for aiming and proximity.

Thanks for the effort! Some practice jumps at ITW did good. If my next flight will be the best ever it will be because of the war-face look, I have not tried this one yet! Thanks for the tip Wink
