One of my favorite sites has had some added security measures installed. The only one that has given me pause is a sign stating that there is audio surveillance. Other than being a glorified tape recorder does anyone have any experience with or information about this type of equipment. Thanks.

It could just be a fake sign to scare people off. This is common with camera housings and other security signs. You can test it out by going one night without gear or trespassing or doing anything illegal and make alot of noise. See if there is any reponse from authorities.

Im in the alarm business, and some "places" that dont want to fork over the cash for cameras, or even non-working cameras, put up signs like this since they dont have cameras, real or not, they cant put up "video surveillance" signs, they put up the audio ones, its usually to keep people from coming in and stealing copper wire.

Go make a bunch of noise and sit back and wait to see what happens.

An excellent technique for this is to get a large cooking pot and wooden spoon. Then bang pot with wooden spoon, while running around the fence yelling "Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma".
