Portable jump platform
Does anyone have any experience putting up a portable jump platform on the side of a cliff? I know there was one in the Swiss valley but from what I remember it was small. I need to figure out something that will stick out a few feet to make this jump I'm looking at more feasible. It doesn't have any decent footing for an exit and we'll need to rappel down to a 'somewhat' sheer face(hence the need for a few extra feet clearance).

Any ideas on what might work?

We engineered an overhanging platform for the pbasE jump.

What are your parameters? Can you anchor a rope above the exit? Do you have other people to help?

The easiest thing to set up is a portaledge (the thing big wall climbers sleep on) anchored to a rope that extends back above the wall.

Tom,
We were considering something like a portaledge. Are they really all that solid?
We have a few small-ish trees to anchor to, but they're on a rocky slope and I really don't know if we can trust them.

They do wiggle a little when you launch. If possible, it's best to use anchors to either side to tension between.

Is there no place to set pro and build a climbing anchor?

The rock is pretty shitty. I'm no expert, but I definitely wouldn't trust it with an cam or nut.
