Swiss Valley weather issues
Hey all! We three Canadians arrived in the Swiss Valley today to find that it is... flooded. The river running down the valley is almost over the banks, and there are a lot more waterfalls on the walls than usual. In particular, we are somewhat concerned about a gigantic falls which has appeared just to jumper's right of Y.O.

Weather looks like it will let up in a couple of days, but for now we're wondering if anyone has heard of difficulties accessing the exit points. Will be stopping by the H. tomorrow to check if anyone else is in the valley, but since I don't see any other posts here yet on this topic, thought we'd put the word out.

If anyone has heard anything, please post here. We'll check again tomorrow. Thanks!

Michael

Left this afternoon....... sorry to say..... but boy did you guys miss a fine weather window.
Our group hit the shroom multiple times this last 6 days. Mikki dragged our lame asses around and showed us some fun times. Brendan and Dean even got a load off at 2 this afternoon from the nose.

Looks soggy for the next few days. Careful hiking around in the sludge..... It's freaking slick out there.

P.S. Next time I send you guys a pm telling you guys I wanna see you...... I mean it...

Holy hell, man. Bummer for your trip, but post some pics if you get a chance. I'd like to see what those conditions look like, especially the falls by Y.O.

Apparently the flooding in the valley made the news in Luzern. No trains made it in/out yesterday, but the road managed to survive the night. Conditions are improving, and it looks like we might be jumping tomorrow. I'm surprised how fast the river is draining. Already it is a couple feet below the high point yesterday, and a few of the waterfalls have disappeared. I've attached a photo of the falls next to Y.O. at their mud-laden finest yesterday.

Nice Pic. That thing is really pushing some water.

Was Trummelbach open? It's a neat place to go on a non-jumping day. I'm wondering if the extra water flow filled up some of those caverns.

Here is the same angle of Y.O. just a couple days later. The rivers and waterfalls all dried up to their usual, reasonable looking selves (at least I am assuming that that is what they usually look like.)

No problems getting to any of the exit points, even just 1 and a half days after this flood. Great weather for the rest of our trip. Lots of great jumps with great people.

Nice!

What's it like trying to cross the stream on the trail when the waterfall is raging like that?

the picture i've taken and the video
are from the other side (not yo).
what you see is the "staubbach" waterfall.
there's a wooden bridge to cross it.
as said in the video description i couldn't see
any unordinary thing the day after.
